10 PVL stars called up for national team

The Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team is gearing up for a monumental showdown at the AVC Challenge Cup for Women 2024.

Headlining the squad are two formidable forces: Sisi Rondina from Choco Mucho and Jia De Guzman from Denso, both poised to lead the charge in the highly anticipated tournament set to take place from May 22 to 29 at the historic Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Joining Rondina and De Guzman are a host of seasoned professionals, including Eya Laure and Jennifer Nierva from Chery Tiggo, Dawn Macandili-Catindig and Vanie Gandler representing Cignal, Dell Palomata hailing from PLDT, and Cherry Nunag proudly donning the colors of Choco Mucho.

Adding to the lineup are Faith Nisperos and Fifi Sharma, flying the flag for Akari.

The confirmation of this powerhouse lineup was made official by none other than Philippine National Volleyball Federation President, Tats Suzara, during the federation's recent moniker reveal event.

But the talent pool doesn't end there. The squad boasts an impressive contingent of UAAP standouts, featuring Bella Belen from National University and Angel Canino from De La Salle University.

Alyssa Solomon of NU, Casiey Dongallo representing UE, and the dynamic duo of Thea Gagate and Julia Coronel from La Salle complete the formidable roster.
