Aleiah Torres ready to learn, contribute with Creamline's libero squad

Aleiah Torres, hailing from Cavite and Tarlac roots but raised in Toronto, Canada, has embraced a new challenge as Creamline selected her as the No. 12 pick in the inaugural PVL Draft. Joining a championship-caliber team ahead of the Reinforced Conference, the 22-year-old libero expressed readiness despite the pressure.

“There’s definitely a lot of pressure, but as my coach back home in Canada said, ‘pressure is a privilege.’ Hopefully, I can enjoy this opportunity and handle whatever comes my way,” Torres remarked.

Having graduated from Brook University, Torres brings a wealth of experience, having led her team with 234 total digs in 20 regular-season games during her senior year. Now, she looks forward to learning from Creamline’s deep libero pool, which includes Kyla Atienza, Ella de Jesus, and Denden Lazaro-Revilla.

“I see it as a fantastic opportunity to be part of this team and learn from individuals who have experienced winning situations. I hope to contribute my talents and skills to their team and help continue their success,” Torres added.

Playing in front of her Filipino family and representing Creamline’s extensive fan base across the country are also significant motivations for Torres.

“Many of my family members here haven’t had the chance to watch me play in Canada, so it’s a wonderful opportunity for them to see me live and playing professional volleyball in the Philippines,” she shared.

Looking ahead to the Reinforced Conference starting on July 16, Torres anticipates showcasing her skills against fellow Fil-Canadian PVL standouts like Savi Davison of PLDT and reigning PVL MVP Brooke Van Sickle from Petro Gazz.

“It’s incredibly exciting. It’ll be tough competition on the court, and I look forward to facing them, playing against them, and contributing my skills to the team,” Torres concluded, eager to make her mark in Philippine volleyball.
