Alinsunurin credits Rondina for culture-change in Choco Mucho

The Philsports Arena was ablaze with excitement as the Choco Mucho Flying Titans soared to victory in a thrilling five-setter against Petro Gazz, securing a 25-22, 25-15, 22-25, 18-25, 15-10 triumph. After a string of heartbreaks in previous seasons, Head Coach Dante Alinsunurin believes that the team is now ready to take the next step in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference.

Reflecting on their previous match against F2 Logistics, which ended in a heartbreaking five-set loss, the Rebisco-backed squad showed remarkable resilience and determination against Petro Gazz.

Coach Alinsunurin expressed, "The result of our last game was a tremendous help for us."

Despite missing the chance to close out the Cargo Movers in four sets, he emphasized that the team is still in the early stages of establishing themselves as a formidable force in the PVL.

Choco Mucho's path to victory was not without challenges, as the Angels staged an impressive comeback from a 0-2 set deficit, pushing the match to a deciding fifth set. Learning from their past experiences, the Flying Titans exhibited unwavering strength and managed to fend off a gritty Petro Gazz side, securing their third win in four outings.

Coach Alinsunurin asserted, "We are gradually establishing Choco Mucho here in the PVL," emphasizing the team's steady progress and the importance of demonstrating discipline on the court.

During the match, he urged his players to maintain their composure, especially during critical moments. The team's discipline in defense and blocking during the third and fourth sets proved vital, leading them to victory in the end.

The team's recent success can be attributed, in part, to the arrival of volleyball superstar Sisi Rondina. Since joining Choco Mucho, Rondina's impact has been palpable both on and off the court. As a former national team head coach, Alinsunurin acknowledges the significance of Rondina's presence during team practices, noting that her energy elevates the entire team's performance.

"You know, ever since Sisi [Rondina] joined us, her impact on the team has been felt right from the training sessions; she really brings the team together. Whether it's during practice or any other aspect, she's been incredible," said Coach Alinsunurin, expressing his gratitude for Rondina's decision to join Choco Mucho and contribute to the team's growth. Her guidance and dedication to the team's program have been priceless, setting a standard that others strive to follow.

With Choco Mucho's resurgence in the 2023 PVL Invitational Conference, the Flying Titans now have the opportunity to surpass their previous seventh-place finishes in the past two conferences. Their next challenge awaits as they face Cignal in a crucial match on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Philsports Arena.

As the team continues to grow and evolve under the guidance of Coach Alinsunurin and the inspiration of Sisi Rondina, the future looks promising for the Flying Titans. Their journey from heartbreak to triumph is a testament to their resilience, determination, and the unwavering support of their loyal fans.

As they prepare for their upcoming match, the question on everyone's mind is whether Choco Mucho can maintain their momentum and make a significant impact in the 2023 PVL Invitational Conference.

One thing is certain - win or lose, the Flying Titans have already proven that they are a team to watch and a force to be reckoned with.
