Alyssa Eroa relishes second chance in PVL

Alyssa Eroa's journey back to the PVL reads like a gripping tale of resilience, determination, and seizing second chances.

After nearly two years adrift without a pro team, Eroa's return to the court with Galeries Tower has been nothing short of a triumphant resurgence.

Eroa's last PVL appearance was back in the 2022 Open Conference with BaliPure, a stint that was cut short when the team disbanded shortly after.

Despite the setback, Eroa refused to be sidelined. With unwavering dedication, she maintained her peak physical condition and relentlessly pursued opportunities, refusing to let her dreams fade into obscurity.

"Parang 'yung last po kasi 'yung pandemic pa po na liga 'yung last, 'yung sa BaliPure pa po 'yung last e. So parang 'yung last na pagpasok po dun sa BaliPure," shared Eroa.

"Parang after nung liga, parang wala na po talagang pag-asa kasi wala rin po talagang kumo-contact. Wala po talaga."

However, Eroa's resilience shone through as she found a new home in a regional club. 

There, she not only showcased her exceptional skills but also clinched the coveted Best Libero award in the regional league, proving her mettle on the court.

With each game, Eroa honed her craft, steadfastly preparing for her eventual return to the PVL arena.

Her perseverance paid off when Galeries Tower extended an invitation, offering her a second chance to shine in the spotlight.

“Nagulat na lang din po ako, sa awa ng Diyos, may kumontact din po na PVL team. So 'di ko na sasayangin 'tong second chance na 'to. Sobrang thank you po sa management ng Galeries kasi pinagkatiwalaan nila ako na makalaro sa team nila,” said Eroa.

Joined by Eroa, Galeries Tower embarked on a quest for redemption in the PVL's All-Filipino Conference. With Eroa's expertise anchoring their defense, the Highrisers showed remarkable improvement, clinching three victories in the conference.

Although their playoff aspirations fell short, Galeries Tower left an indelible mark on the league, epitomizing resilience and fortitude till the very end. Eroa's unwavering commitment and stellar performance inspired her teammates, setting the stage for an even more promising future.

“Sobrang saya po kasi na-reach 'yung goal namin na mas maganda 'yung maipakita namin, lalo ngayong last game namin this conference. At nakakadagdag din po ng kumpiyansa sa bawat isa para sa next conference,” said Eroa.
