Anyse Smith may have already left her mark on Filipino volleyball fans during her stint with Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC in the AVC Champions League earlier this year, but the high-flying opposite is set on making an even bigger impact—this time donning the colors of the crowd-favorite Choco Mucho in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
“I feel like I did a big one the first time,” said Smith, recalling her bronze medal-winning run with the Thai powerhouse and her emergence as a fan favorite at Philsports Arena.
“But I want to leave with an even bigger impact this time.”
At 26, Smith is no stranger to the pressures of playing in front of one of the league’s most passionate fan bases—a challenge she welcomes with open arms.
“I love the supporters here. I feel like the fans definitely give us a run for our money. They're there to support us. They're there when we're down, and they're there when we need them. So I just want to say we appreciate all of you,” she shared.
The spotlight and high expectations, however, have not shaken Smith. She credits the smooth transition into the Flying Titans system to the warmth and support of her new teammates, who embraced her from day one.
“I'm just here to do my job, show my support, be a good team player, and be a leader. I want to win. You will see a very compassionate, very committed Marlee this time around,” Smith said.
“The transition has been fairly easy because my teammates are very welcoming. I felt very supported since I got here. I actually really, really love my team.”
