Angeli Araneta provided ample support in Cignal’s straight sets win over Chery Tiggo in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference semifinals, Friday night.
The 28-year-old wing spiker turned in 10 points and seven excellent receptions as the HD Spikers made quick work of the Crossovers, 28-26, 25-17, 25-23 at the Philsports Arena to share the top spot with Creamline in the round-robin semis.
Araneta said that it was just a matter of staying ready when her number is called upon. She also deflected the credit to her teammates, who according to her, kept on motivating her during the match,
Playing in three straight playdates also helped the HD Spikers’ momentum according to Araneta.
“One day lang yung naging recovery namin pero ang naging maganda doon is nasa momentum kami, parang hindi kami napahinga,” said Araneta.
Cignal goes up against the grand slam-seeking Creamline this Sunday, 2:30 PM at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
