Bea De Leon shines despite Creamline's loss

Fans last Saturday in Sta. Rosa witnessed a clash of titans as Creamline Cool Smashers took on Petro Gazz in an electrifying showdown.

While the match ended on a somber note for the Cool Smashers, one player's stellar performance shone through the disappointment.

Bea De Leon, donning the Creamline uniform with pride, delivered her best performance yet, showcasing her prowess as a middle blocker.

With 13 points under her belt, including seven impressive attacks and six solid blocks, De Leon emerged as a standout despite her team's defeat.

However, amidst her individual achievement, De Leon's focus remained fixed on the team's ultimate goal – victory.

"Oh, I didn't know (that it was my first time to score in double-digits for Creamline). Sana nanalo na lang kami," she expressed, reflecting the team's sentiments after the intense five-set battle against Petro Gazz.

The Ateneo alumna's words echoed the determination and resilience ingrained in the Cool Smashers' ethos. Despite falling short,De Leon emphasized the team's relentless effort and acknowledged Petro Gazz's commendable performance.

Creamline's journey in the match was marked by moments of brilliance and challenges. From a promising start with Tots Carlos' cross-court hit, to Petro Gazz's commanding lead fueled by Brooke Van Sickle's exceptional play, the game was a rollercoaster of emotions for both teams and fans alike.

Even as Creamline fought back, narrowing the gap with a late surge led by De Leon, Jema Galanza, Kyle Negrito, and Carlos, it wasn't enough to clinch the victory. Petro Gazz sealed the deal, handing the Cool Smashers their second loss of the conference.

Looking ahead, De Leon emphasized the team's need to address their slow starts as they prepare for their upcoming match against Nxled. "

Siguro na-mention nga nila coach kanina is slow starts... everything's still a blur so we're still gonna try and go back talaga to the drawing table," she stated, highlighting the team's commitment to learning and improving.

Despite the setback, De Leon's stellar performance serves as a beacon of hope for Creamline, fueling their determination to bounce back stronger in the challenges that lie ahead.

As they regroup and strategize, one thing remains certain – the Cool Smashers are poised to rise from this defeat.
