Bernadeth Pons has once again proven that winning seems to follow her wherever she goes, as she spearheaded Creamline’s resurgence to the summit of the Premier Volleyball League.
Back in full force after a brief stint away from indoor volleyball, Pons was crowned Finals MVP following the Cool Smashers’ commanding sweep of the Cignal Super Spikers in the All-Filipino Conference championship.
She set the tone in Game 1, delivering an all-around masterclass with 11 points, 15 excellent digs, and five excellent receptions as Creamline drew first blood with a 25-22, 25-18, 25-16 straight-set victory.
Refusing to slow down, Pons elevated her game in the decisive Game 2 classic.
In a grueling five-set battle, she exploded for a team-high 22 points while also anchoring the floor with 25 excellent digs and 15 excellent receptions, helping the Cool Smashers prevail 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-11 to complete the sweep.
The 29-year-old outside hitter’s championship run capped a remarkable return to indoor play after stepping away from the PVL circuit from April to December 2025 to focus on beach volleyball.
That detour proved fruitful as she captured a maiden Southeast Asian Games gold medal alongside Sisi Rondina, Dij Rodriguez, and Sunny Villapando—before seamlessly bringing her winning form back to Creamline’s indoor campaign.
