Bierria grateful to Cignal for helping break her in

After a shaky start, Tai Bierria is glad to deliver in her first-ever game with Cignal in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, Saturday at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex.

The American import shared that she struggled during her first full week of practice with the HD Spikers. Thankfully, her teammates and coaches were there to help her get through the process in time.

“So far it's been great. I think we got off to a rocky start in the first week but that's expected with a new team," shared Bierria. "But going to this game I really felt confident with this team, really confident with the system, really confident with coach so yeah it was good."

In her first taste of PVL action, Bierria dropped 20 points on 17 attacks, two blocks, and an ace on top of 12 excellent digs to help her side take a  20-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-16 opening day victory over the debuting Akari.

Still, despite her successful debut, the 6-foot-1 product of New Mexico University believes that there is still a lot of work to do if the HD Spikers want to finally surpass their bronze finishes in the past two conferences.

"More work. A lot more work to do. I gotta get to the gym and get some more timing. So going into this next game we gotta be better, I gotta be better," said Bierria.

For her part, Bierria said that she plans to bring more energy inside the court moving forward.

"Energy. I like to bring a lot of energy in the court. I play almost every single spot. I pass, I block, I serve so expect good things all around but I think energy and just a good vibe for the team,” said Bierria.

“That's what we really need so that's what I wanna bring and with time, a bunch of kills and a bunch of points."
