The Cignal HD Spikers are bolstering their already solid defensive lineup with the addition of Buding Duremdes for the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.
Entering the season with just 13 players, the HD Spikers have strategically reinforced their floor defense, headlined by veteran libero Dawn Catindig. Duremdes' arrival adds another layer of reliability to Cignal’s backline as they aim for a deep run in the five-month-long tournament.
Duremdes parted ways with Chery Tiggo during the off-season, closing a dramatic four-year chapter with the Crossovers. The stint included a historic title in the league’s inaugural professional conference in 2021. However, the Crossovers struggled to maintain championship form, falling short of the finals in the following eight conferences. They managed three semifinal appearances, including back-to-back campaigns in the 2023 and 2024 All-Filipino Conferences.
Minutes on the court became increasingly limited for Duremdes with the arrival of defensive specialists Jennifer Nierva and Karen Verdeflor, prompting her decision to seek new opportunities.
With Cignal, Duremdes is expected to provide crucial depth and energy behind Catindig, ensuring that the HD Spikers maintain their high defensive standards throughout the grueling season.
