Capital1 strengthens lineup with Trisha Genesis

Capital1 has welcomed Trisha Genesis to its roster, providing a crucial boost ahead of the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference's resumption.

The Solar Spikers confirmed the signing on Friday afternoon.

Genesis, who last saw action with Nxled during the 2023 Reinforced Conference, became a free agent after being left out of the Chameleons’ lineup for the ongoing All-Filipino tournament. This allowed the 24-year-old outside hitter to join Capital1 immediately, where she is expected to make an impact for the Solar Spikers.

For Genesis, this move represents a chance to revitalize her career following lackluster stints with Akari and Nxled. Known for her versatility and powerful attacks during her collegiate years at Adamson University, she brings much-needed depth and potential to a struggling Capital1 squad.

The Solar Spikers currently sit in 11th place with a 1-5 record, making Genesis’ arrival a timely reinforcement. Her addition bolsters a lineup featuring Leila Cruz, Roma Mae Doromal, Des Clemente, and seasoned setter Iris Tolenada, all of whom are working to reverse the team’s fortunes in the second half of the season.

Capital1 returns to action on Saturday afternoon, taking on Farm Fresh at 1:30 p.m. at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City. Fans will be eager to see if Genesis can help spark the Solar Spikers’ turnaround and reignite the team’s hopes for a stronger finish in the conference.
