Ced Domingo brings championship mentality to Akari

Ced Domingo is ready to unleash the wealth of experience gained with Nakhon Ratchasima in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference with Akari.

Fresh from aiding Nakhon Ratchasima in clinching their sixth Thailand Volleyball League title, Domingo is set to make her mark alongside the best in the local scene.

Reflecting on her time in Thailand, Domingo emphasized the growth in her maturity as a player and an individual.

"One thing that I’ve really learned coming home from Thailand is my maturity inside the game and as an individual. It's those instances that shape you," expressed the two-time PVL Best Middle Blocker.

Joining the elite ranks of Jaja Santiago and Bryan Bagunas, Domingo proudly stands as one of the few Filipinos to secure a championship overseas. In a moment of humility, she attributes her success to luck and the formidable strength of her teammates.

Her championship stint in Thailand, she says, was an unexpected journey that pushed her beyond her comfort zone, allowing her to explore her capabilities as both a player and an individual.

Domingo, known for her composure on the court, expressed admiration for her Thai teammates, including legends like Onuma Sittirak. She spoke of the similarities between the competitiveness of her former team, Creamline, and Nakhon Ratchasima, noting the relentless drive not to accept defeat.

With just one practice session under her belt, Domingo made her debut for Akari in a challenging match against Cignal. Although the Chargers faced a 21-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-18 defeat, Domingo's presence on the court marked a significant moment in her PVL return.

Despite admitting to being in the adjustment phase with her new team, Domingo showcased a calm and realistic approach to her debut.

"Honestly, very chill lang ako. Kung ano lang talaga yung mabibigay ko for this game since first time ko nga mag-training yesterday," she shared.

Looking forward, Domingo expressed optimism for Akari's future, highlighting the promising talents like Faith Nisperos, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Fifi Sharma, and Grethcel Soltones.
