Creamline middle blocker Ced Domingo shared that she did not expect to win the Finals MVP award in the Cool Smashers’ three-set win over KingWhale Taipei in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference finals last Sunday.
"Wala po, wala po talaga as in blank," recalled Domingo “Actually, meron pa akong confetti sa kamay ko kasi ready akong sabuyan kung sino ‘man yung maging (finals) MVP so wala po talaga.”
In the winner-take-all finale, Domingo delivered 11 points built on five attacks, four kill blocks, and two aces to lead Creamline to a 25-21, 25-19, 25-11 win over the Taiwanese club.
The former FEU standout also delivered the hit that pulled the Cool Smashers at match point before Alyssa Valdez clinched the championship point.
Domingo said that she just stuck to her role all throughout the team’s final match and made sure to provide everything that the coaching staff asked her to do.
"Actually, I really did may part lang talaga,” said Domingo.
“Kung ano ‘man yung kaya kong i-contribute sa team, talagang nag (inayos ko yung) mindset ko and cinompose ko yung sarili ko na every rally, every point talagang kung meron akong matutulong talagang gagawin ko."
Domingo joined the growing list of Creamline players – which includes Valdez, Jia Morado, Jema Galanza, and Tots Carlos – to win an MVP award
