Ces Molina motivated to lead Cignal to promised land

After missing out on a slot in the Open Conference finals, Ces Molina is very motivated to lead the Cignal HD Spikers to the promised land in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference.

"Yun yung pinaka motivation namin, Like what I've said na muntik na kaming mag-finals last time pero kinapos kami," said Molina, after her side scored a 25-17, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20 win over Army-Black Mamba on Sunday.

In the Open Conference, Cignal had a strong start that saw them sweep the entire Group A to earn one of the top seeds in the quarterfinals.

The HD Spikers knocked out BaliPure from contention before eventually figuring in a tight affair against Petro Gazz in the semifinals.

Cignal was actually on the verge of securing its seat in the finale but stumbled in Games Two and Three against the Angels which dropped them to the bronze medal series where they defeated Choco Mucho via quotient.

With that memory still fresh in their minds, Molina said that the HD Spikers vowed that they will go for the kill every chance they get at this conference to prevent the same thing from happening again.

"Yung difference na gusto naming ipakita this time is yung magkaroon kami ng endgame talaga - na every game, kapag kaya naming layuan yung score, lalayuan talaga namin para maging malinis talaga yung tapos ng game namin," said the Open Conference Best Outside Hitter.

"Like other teams, nag te-training din naman talaga kami and nung last league talaga muntik na kami sa finals. So ang goal talaga namin is every game, makuha namin at ma-improve din yung skills namin. Hindi lang laging kunin yung game," she added.

The San Beda product delivered 20 big points on 16 attacks and four blocks in Cignal's debut win.

"Kailangan nagi-improve rin kami every game, yun talaga yung goal namin."
