ILOCOS NORTE -- Chery Tiggo swept Choco Mucho, 25-20, 25-9, 25-22, in a duel of the semis rivals with the two teams ending up with identical 7-2 slates in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference campaign, Saturday afternoon at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center here in Bacarra.
The Crossovers claimed the No. 2 spot via tiebreak.
"Of course happy ako na umabot kami ng top four, yun naman yung first goal namin. Yung second goal sa semis, it's going to be a different ball game," said Chery Tiggo head coach Aaron Velez.
Chery Tiggo used some combinations anchored on its key players with Mylene Paat scoring 11 points to clinch the game's top honors while Choco Mucho opted to rest its starters for Sunday's start of their Final Four clash at 5 p.m.
Paat led all scorers with 11 points, 11 excellent digs, and seven excellent receptions while Jaja Santiago added 11 markers in the win.
Jasmine Nabor finished with 17 excellent sets for Chery Tiggo.
The Crossovers and the Flying Titans ended the elimination round with identical 7-2 cards, but Chery Tiggo had the upper hand due to the head-to-head match-up.
Caitlyn Viray led the Rebisco-backed squad with 10 points while Kat Tolentino only had six.
Regine Arocha, who suffered from cramps yesterday against Petro Gazz, sat out the match.
