ILOCOS NORTE -- With their new additions starting to click, Petro Gazz team captain Chie Saet believes that their offense will be their biggest weapon in the on going Premier Volleyball League wars.
Saet steered the offense for Petro Gazz in the 25-22, 25-18, 25-21 win over Cignal. She dished out 20 excellent sets laced with four points as the Angels moved up to a 2-1 standing.
"Masaya ako kasi maraming variations and at the same time kumbaga magiging threat din talaga sa kalaban. Pero kailangan pa namin talaga i-practice yung passing namin kasi yun pa yung kailangan naming iimprove at yung service din talaga," said the veteran setter.
It was a balanced offensive attack for Petro Gazz with Grethcel Soltones leading the way with 14 points.
Ces Molina collected 11 markers while Myla Pablo and Ria Meneses each had 10 points.
Still, Saet knows that the team has to work harder in order to achieve their goal of becoming the first champion of the league's maiden professional conference.
"Masaya ako kasi we all know na isa yung team namin sa bago. So we're still in the process na maging mas okay sa loob, mas magkaroon ng jive sa loob, magkaroon pa ng mas magandang energy. Yun naman yung laging sinasabi ni coach every game na irespeto namin kahit sino yung kalaban namin," said Saet.
"Lahat naman ng dumating, mababait naman po sila. Parang we are all well instructed by pur management and our coaches kaya kung ano po yung instructions nila we follow po talaga," she added.
Currently tied with Chery Tiggo at the second spot, Petro Gazz opened its PVL debut with a bang after a huge win over Black Mamba-Army before eventually losing to Creamline.
The Angels will next face PLDT on Tuesday at 6:00 PM.
