Chinnie Arroyo is emerging as a force to be reckoned with, shedding the shadows of her limited playing time with F2 Logistics.
The former National University standout is now basking in the spotlight with her expanded role at Farm Fresh, and her performance is leaving an indelible mark on the court.
After a quiet start in their debut game against the defending champions, Creamline, where she contributed eight points in a losing effort, Arroyo unleashed her full potential in a commanding fashion.
Guiding Farm Fresh to a resounding 25-16, 25-18, 25-16 victory over Capital1 at the Philsports Arena, the versatile player notched an impressive 11 points during the one-hour, 18-minute clash, earning her the well-deserved title of Player of the Game.
In a post-game interview, Arroyo, with a hint of jest, expressed her embrace of the pivotal role she now plays for her team.
"Wala po niyayakap ko lang po tong role ko ngayon kasi wala po akong choice e, charot lang," she quipped, letting her humility shine through. "Niyayakap ko lang tong role na to kasi never pa naman ako nagka-ano dati sa iba kong team. So ito yung chance ko ngayon so niyayakap ko talaga to."
Arroyo attributes her stellar performance to the culmination of hard work and dedication in training. She emphasized the team's commitment to translating their training efforts into each game, with a mindset akin to championship-level intensity.
"Kung ano yung trinaining namin, yung pinaghirapan namin sa training, inaapply lang po namin sa game namin," she explained. "Tsaka yung mindset namin alam mo yung parang pang championship na mindset, ganon. Kasi po manalo o matalo ganun po yung mindset ng lahat e, ‘yun nga championship mindset."
Feeling right at home with her new teammates, Arroyo highlighted the camaraderie that has developed since her arrival.
"Okay naman po kasi yung mga kasama ko naman madali lang silang ano talaga, kasama. Magaan then yung sa amin sa game nage-enjoy kami," she shared, emphasizing the positive atmosphere within the team.
