Choco Mucho is gearing up for a thrilling new chapter as they transition from their impressive run in the VTV Cup to the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference.
Flying Titants head coach Dante Alinsunurin, the guiding force behind the team, has a vision in mind - to turn their recent successes into a catalyst for greater achievements.
Their journey started with a bronze finish in the VTV Cup held in Vietnam last August. Coach Alinsunurin firmly believes that the experiences gained during this international tournament will serve as a wellspring of motivation for his team.
With an eye on ending the franchise's podium drought, he expressed, "We are extremely excited about the third conference, given our results in the VTV Cup. I've been telling them about our potential, and it's important that we use VTV as our inspiration and carry it into the third conference. It's where we began, and they can relive the feeling of a podium finish. It's crucial that we've initiated it; now we must keep the momentum going."
Their path to this point has been filled with ups and downs. In the First All-Filipino Conference, Choco Mucho finished seventh among nine teams, leaving much room for improvement.
However, they bounced back impressively during the Invitationals, once again securing the seventh position, but this time in a much more competitive 13-team field. The tantalizing prospect of making it to the semifinals of the mid-season conference was within their grasp, only to slip through their fingers due to crucial losses to F2 Logistics and Cignal.
Now, the team is faced with a fresh opportunity, and Alinsunurin is unwavering in his determination to make it to the semifinals.
"Of course, our ultimate goal is to achieve that. Step by step, we're getting there. I told them during the first conference that we'll try to figure out how to win, and by the second conference, we had already achieved that, albeit narrowly," he noted.
Adding another layer to their journey, they were afforded the unique opportunity to play internationally, allowing them to showcase the system Coach Alinsunurin has instilled in them. The positive results bolstered their belief in their capabilities.
Alinsunurin concluded, "I simply told them that we should each strive to achieve our goals in this conference."
As the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference unfolds, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans are set to harness their VTV Cup experience, learn from past challenges, and strive for greatness.
