Choco Mucho looks to represent PH well in VTV Cup

Choco Mucho left the country on Wednesday night for Vietnam to participate in the VTV Cup international women's volleyball tournament in Lao Cai, beginning this Saturday.

Led by Sisi Rondina and Deanna Wong, the Flying Titans intend to use this competition to strengthen their highly popular club for the upcoming Third Conference, set to commence in October.

"Magiging malaking impact sa team kasi yung exposure namin sa international," said Choco Mucho coach Dante Alinsunurin right after his college team National University won its first V-League Collegiate Challenge men's match at the Paco Arena.

"Alam naman magiging babalik sa player kapag naglaro sa international. Mas magiging kumpiyansa sila," he added.

"Gusto naming i-angat yung standing namin. From seventh place (Invitational Conference, gusto naming pumasok sa Final Four."

The Flying Titans will kick off their campaign against the home team Vietnam 1, featuring Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Doan Thi Lam Oanh, at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Choco Mucho is also scheduled to compete against Vietnam 2, Australia, Japan's Kansai University, and South Korea's Suwon City.

The tournament's format includes a single round-robin phase, where the top two teams will compete for the championship, while the third and fourth-ranked teams will vie for the bronze. The teams ranked fifth and sixth will face off in a classification match.
