Cignal signs Dawn Macandili-Catindig

The Cignal HD Spikers, second in the Premier Volleyball League in podium finishes with its four bronze medals and one silver medal finish, just nailed the first domino in what is set to be a busy offseason for all PVL teams by signing one of the best liberos in the country in Dawn Macandili-Catindig.

The former three-time UAAP Champion and Finals MVP just signed with Coach Shaq Delos Santos’s squad, after former squad F2 Logistics announced its departure from the league to focus on its grassroots volleyball ventures.

“Any team or coach will gladly welcome a player of Dawn’s caliber,” says Coach Shaq Delos Santos. “Gusto naming mag-build pa on the podium finishes that we have lately. Tingin namin si Dawn is one kind of player who will help us reach our goal for this team.

With rookie Vanie Gandler leading the way combined with 2023 PVL Awardees in MVP Ces Molina, Best Middle Blocker Ria Meneses, and Best Setter Gel Cayuna, Cignal is looking for an even better finish in its upcoming 2024 season.

“I’m happy and honored to be able to join a stable and long-time volleyball club such as the Cignal HD Spikers. Coach Shaq has also been my coach in several national team stints so I think it will be easy to adapt to the team as I already know his system from before,” says 5-foot libero, who is also an AB Psychology graduate of De La Salle University.

The PVL begins its 2024 season in February.
