Creamline gives Bea de Leon fresh start

Creamline has bolstered its middle blocker lineup for the upcoming 2024 Premier Volleyball League season by securing the services of former Choco Mucho team captain Bea De Leon.

Teaming up with Jeanette Panaga and Risa Sato, De Leon aims to address the void left by Ced Domingo, who chose to transfer to Akari once her commitment with Nakhon Ratchasima concludes.

As the former UAAP Finals MVP, De Leon is slated to join the Cool Smashers squad, which ranked ninth in blocking with only 68 blocks during the elimination round of the Second All-Filipino Conference, a tournament they won convincingly.

Despite being a pivotal player for Choco Mucho since their league entry in 2019, De Leon gradually lost her spot in the rotation, eventually taking on the role of a service specialist during the Second All-Filipino Conference.

Maddie Madayag and Cherry Nunag's stellar performances as the starting middle blockers for the Flying Titans, under coach Dante Alinsunurin, led to De Leon assuming a bench role.

The former Ateneo star is set to reunite with her collegiate teammates Alyssa Valdez, Ella De Jesus, and Jia De Guzman, the latter currently playing as an import for the Denso Airybees in Japan.

De Leon and Lazaro are poised to fortify the Cool Smashers squad, addressing the team's shortcomings in both blocking and digging, as they finished ninth in these departments during the previous conference's elimination round.
