De Leon, Choco Mucho not looking back on semis loss to Chery

Bea De Leon and Choco Mucho are not looking back from last year's heart-breaking semifinals collapse as they take on tormentor Chery Tiggo in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Sunday at Paco Arena.

Choco Mucho eyes its second straight win against a struggling Chery Tiggo, which lost its first two games in Pool A.

De Leon insisted this is a fresh start for the revamped Flying Titans and they are not looking back in last season's heartbreak in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, where they took Game 1 but lost back-to-back missing the Finals.

"I don't think we are really trying to look back at what happened a year ago," De Leon said.

"I believe we are a lot stronger, a lot better now and we are heading into that game confident at kaya na namin bawiin yun. But again, we just want to do things right."

The former UAAP Finals MVP added she's happy to have new guns like Des Cheng, Aduke Ogunsanya, Cherry Nunag, Isa Molde, Jem Ferrer, and Thang Ponce in their title quest in this short Open Conference.

"If we want to reach the top, we have to beat all of them anyway. We are just doing things right and executing well. Just taking it one game at a time," she said.

De Leon also expressed that her team misses the fans and she hopes to see them back in their future games.

"I wouldn't know if we're the top but we are really, really grateful for the support from the fans, family, and coaches. Malaking tulong yun for our confidence," she said. (DS)
