Denden Revilla admits bittersweet feeling being on other side of Rebisco Clasico

Denden Lazaro-Revilla showcased her defensive prowess as Creamline Cool Smashers stormed past her former squad, Choco Mucho Flying Titans, in a stunning sweep during the 2024 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Thursday evening.

Lazaro-Revilla, with a laser focus on the court, orchestrated a stellar defensive performance that propelled the defending champions to a resounding victory at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Despite sitting out the team’s previous two games, Lazaro-Revilla returned with a vengeance, guiding the Cool Smashers to a crucial win over the Flying Titans with scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-19, solidifying their spot in the semifinals.

Teaming up with Kyla Atienza, Lazaro-Revilla anchored Creamline's defense with finesse, culminating in an impressive tally of 17 excellent receptions throughout the intense one-hour and 28-minute battle.

Reflecting on her bittersweet reunion with her former teammates, Lazaro-Revilla remarked, "In a way, it feels weird, kasi it's kinda fresh. Ilang months pa lang kami with Creamline. But ‘yun nga, when we're inside the court, it's all business. Outside, we're happy for one another."

The victory not only boosted Creamline's record to 8-2 but also positioned them neck and neck with the Flying Titans in the standings.

Expressing her elation post-match, Lazaro-Revilla emphasized the significance of the win, stating, "I’m very happy that we got this win today. A very crucial win for us, especially going to the semis. This win boosts our chances and at the same time, yung momentum namin moving forward."

Before donning the Cool Smashers' jersey, Lazaro-Revilla had spent the past two years with Choco Mucho, playing a pivotal role in their campaigns over seven conferences.

However, her journey led her to a new home with Creamline, where she found solace and camaraderie.

Grateful for the warm reception she received from her new team, Lazaro-Revilla expressed, “Really, it does feel like home. Pagtapak ko sa training, parang pina-feel nila na welcome ako sa team."

Acknowledging the seamless integration into the Creamline family, Lazaro-Revilla extended her gratitude to the coaches, teammates, and management for fostering a sense of belonging, despite her previous allegiance to Choco Mucho.
