PLDT star Mika Reyes was glad to see her teammates step up in the High Speed Hitters' debut victory over Chery Tiggo in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference on Tuesday.
Reyes starred in the win with a game-high 15 points off 12 attacks and three blocks but also got significant help coming from the likes of Chin Basas, Jules Samonte, Fiola Ceballos, and Rhea Dimaculangan.
"Nakita ko na nag-contribute lahat. Nag-improve rin talaga lahat [sa amin]," said Reyes, who quickly deflected her huge performance to her teammates.
"Pero sabi ko nga rin kay coach kanina na hindi ako makakapuntos kung walang nagre-receive para sa akin so lahat gumana, lahat talaga nag-trabaho," she added.
Basas scored 14 points in the victory while Samonte and Ceballos had 11 and 10 points, respectively. Dimaculangan, meanwhile, had 21 excellent sets.
Now that the team finally showed what they're capable of, Reyes said that the team must be consistent as they try to avoid another quarterfinals exit.
"Siguro kailangan lang maging consistent and yung patience ng bawat isa especially for sure lahat ng teams ngayon nag-prepare and lahat din talaga ayaw mag-patalo. We have to take it one game at a time," said the La Salle product.
PLDT will take on reigning Open Conference champions Creamline on Saturday at 2:30 PM.
"Hopefully mag tuluy-tuloy kasi next game, champions yung makakalaban namin so mapapalaban talaga kami."
