Eya Laure makes sure to leave no regrets despite loss

Eya Laure battled valiantly for Chery Tiggo despite grappling with an undisclosed illness. As the Crossovers ultimately succumbed to Creamline in the series, Laure's indomitable spirit left the court void of any lingering "what-ifs."

For the fiery spiker, the semifinals represent a different narrative – a battleground where teams vie for a coveted spot in the Finals. Laure, speaking after their Game 2 loss, expressed the intrinsic desire every player harbors: "Of course, I miss the feeling of playing in the Finals.”

She underlined her commitment to the game and her team, emphasizing the avoidance of regret by facing the challenges head-on.

Laure's reputation for giving her all dates back to her tenure with the Golden Tigresses in the UAAP, a trait that remains unwavering. In acknowledging the support she received, Laure credited the Crossovers' coaching staff for their constant check-ins during the game and even before it commenced.

"Thanks to the coaches for being there, asking if I can handle it", she remarked, highlighting the presence of physical therapists and strength and conditioning coaches who guided her through.

Despite finishing the match with just five points in a straight-sets loss to Creamline, Laure's focus extends beyond individual statistics. The young Chery Tiggo squad, although falling short of a Finals berth, still harbors aspirations for a podium finish in the Sports Vision-organized league's season-ending conference.

Looking ahead, the Crossovers find themselves in contention for the bronze medal, set to face the loser between Choco Mucho and Cignal. Laure, undeterred by her physical struggles, assured fans of her unwavering commitment: "Of course, recovery comes first because even now, the feeling is still a bit heavy.” She acknowledged the challenges but conveyed her determination to fuel her body for the battles yet to come.

As the team gears up for the battle for bronze, Laure encapsulates their collective mindset: “The fight isn't over yet.”

While the Finals may be out of reach, the prospect of clinching the bronze medal ensures that Chery Tiggo, led by the relentless Eya Laure, remains a force to be reckoned with in the PVL.
