LIPA CITY--F2 Logistics pulled off a dominant 25-12, 25-10, 25-6 win over Baguio City to remain unbeaten in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation Champions League on Sunday at the Aquamarine Recreational Center.
Kim Kianna Dy made 13 points for the Cargo Movers, who needed only 72 minutes to improve to 2-0 won-lost. The Lady Highlanders dropped to their second straight loss.
Baguio City couldn't find an antidote to F2 Logistics' strong start in each set, allowing coach Ramil de Jesus to shuffle his vastly-talented roster.
"Binigyan namin ng exposure yung iba just in case na kailangan namin sa susunod namin na laro," said De Jesus as they take on the tournament's pro teams in the next three days. "At least nakita ko na kung sino yung puwede mahugot."
One of them was Ara Galang, who as a second set starter produced two service aces that pushed the Cargo Movers to an 8-1 start.
"Alam naman natin yung pinaggalingan ni Ara," said De Jesus about his ward. "Kung hindi mo siya kilala as a player, mahirap para sa mga coaches na i-expect sa kanya yung sobrang taas na mahirap naman niya ibigay para sa ngayon. Pero darating din yung panahon na mabibigay niya yung kaya niyang gawin."
Galang, who finished with five points and two digs, is trying to bring the old form.
"Tine-take ko lang one game at a time, day-by-day," said Galang. "Nagfofocus lang ako sa macocontribute ko at matutulong ko sa team."
F2 Logistics went on a 14-0 start in the third set but Baguio City got its first point on substitute setter Rem Cailing's service error.
Cailing scored all of her seven points from the service zone while Majoy Baron chipped in six points for the Cargo Movers.
Against the Angels at 4 p.m. on Monday, De Jesus is looking forward to their 4 p.m. Monday match against the Angels.
"Yung Petro Gazz kailangan paghandaan," stressed De Jesus. "Madami silang taong kayang paikutin at galing sila sa PVL. Matagal na sila magkakilala. Kailangan lang talaga paghandaan para makita yung weakness ng kalaban."
