Farm Fresh signs recovering Lorene Toring

Farm Fresh secures Adamson University standout Lorene Toring for the upcoming Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, despite the 23-year-old middle blocker's recent ACL injury that led to her missing her final playing year with the Lady Falcons in UAAP Season 86.

Toring sustained the knee injury a week before the UAAP due to a slip during practice.

During her last season with Adamson in Season 85, Toring played a pivotal role in helping the team reach the Final Four, ultimately bowing out of contention after a defeat to National University.

Expected to miss almost the entire PVL season due to her injury, Toring is slated to join the Foxies' middle blocker rotation, featuring players like Riza Cruz, Camill Avila, Aprylle Tagsip, Joan Narit, and Jaycel Delos Reyes once she receives clearance to play.

Interestingly, the move exempts the 5-foot-11 middle blocker from participating in the PVL Rookie Draft set for this June.

In a parallel development, Farm Fresh's sister team, Strong Group, unveiled its preliminary pool on Thursday.

The team's outside hitters include Justine Rebleza, Dolly Versoza, Javen Sabas, Merry Rose Jauculan, and Angeli Cane. The opposite spiker rotation features Souzan Raslan, Jana Sta. Maria, Ayumi Furukawa, Sheeka Espinosa, and Grace Fornillos.

The middle position will be manned by Lilet Mabbayad, Mary Joy Onofre, Grenlen Malapit, Noheli Cerdena, and Nikkie Baldizanso, while liberos Jean Licauco and Melanie Romero will anchor the defense.

Setters Chumcee Ann Caole and Vira Guillema complete the roster.

Strong Group is set to make two more cuts this week as they finalize their lineup.

The team's head coach is Onyok Getigan.
