ILOCOS NORTE - Games and Amusements Board (GAB) chairman Abraham Mitra on Saturday assured the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) players they would be protected as professionals.
"We briefed them on how GAB can assist them if they have a problems with their teams and league," said Mitra, who personally monitored league games along with consultants Fritz Gaston and Oliver Gan.
"I've informed them that GAB can be reached anytime and one click away to them for any assistance," he added.
Mitra also met with Sta. Lucia and PLDT Home Fibr at Fort Ilocandia to also brief them of the league's strict protocols.
"We gave them reminders on safety protocols and code of conduct of being a pro.
The Board , along with Ilocos Norte Gov. Matthew Manotoc, gave their stamp of approval to the league, which already held a total of 25 games thus far.
"We congratulate and thank the PVL and the players for being the first ever professional volleyball players in the country." (VJ)
