Jovelyn Gonzaga signs with ZUS Coffee

Jovelyn Gonzaga has found a fresh start with ZUS Coffee, as the 32-year-old opposite spiker officially joins the youth-driven team ahead of the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference. The Thunderbelles made the announcement on Tuesday, welcoming Gonzaga's veteran presence to a roster brimming with young talent.

Gonzaga, known for her decorated career and leadership, brings a wealth of experience that could prove pivotal for ZUS Coffee.

Having collected numerous accolades throughout her volleyball journey, she is expected to be a major asset in their upcoming campaign.

Her signing comes at a crucial time, as the Thunderbelles look to rebound from a winless outing in the previous Reinforced Conference.

Over the years, Gonzaga has established herself as one of the premier forces in Philippine volleyball.

She first turned heads during the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 Open Conference, where she was named both the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best Attacker, solidifying her reputation as a dominant presence at the net.

Gonzaga’s stellar play didn’t stop there; she added a Finals MVP honor in the 11th Season Open Conference and was also recognized as the Best Attacker in the same season's Reinforced Open Conference.

Her consistency continued into the 12th season, where she earned back-to-back Best Opposite Spiker awards in the Open and Collegiate Conferences. That same season, she was once again named MVP of the Reinforced Open Conference, a testament to her ability to excel on both sides of the ball.

Now joining ZUS Coffee, Gonzaga will be teaming up with standout rookie Thea Gagate, a partnership expected to elevate the team’s performance. Gagate, known for her height and defensive prowess, is poised to benefit from Gonzaga’s mentorship, both on and off the court.

Alongside Gagate, Gonzaga will also have the chance to guide a promising crop of young players, including setter Cloanne Mondonedo, outside hitter Gayle Pascual, and middle blocker Michelle Gamit.

Their combination of youthful energy and Gonzaga’s battle-tested experience sets the stage for an intriguing season for the Thunderbelles.
