Justine Jazareno takes maternity leave from Akari

In the heart of the Premier Volleyball League, where spikes and blocks tell tales of determination, a different kind of excitement resonates.

VP Global Management announced a brief hiatus for the Akari Chargers' libero Justine Jazareno.

The reason behind this pause is not an injury or a sports-related setback; instead, it's the joyous anticipation of impending motherhood.

At the age of 23, Justine Jazareno, an incoming sophomore and former De La Salle University standout, decided to take a remarkable detour in her promising volleyball career.

Choosing family over the remaining playing years, she embraced the path of motherhood with open arms, marking a profound shift in her life's trajectory.

The announcement from VP Global Management echoes the collective excitement surrounding Jazareno's pregnancy journey.

"We're excited to share that our volleyball star, Ms. Justine Jazareno, is eagerly anticipating the joys of motherhood. She has made the decision to take a leave of absence from the game to focus on her forthcoming bundle of joy," the official statement reads.

Jazareno’s journey with the Akari Chargers began with her decision to skip her remaining playing years at De La Salle University and join the team.

Expressing her gratitude, Jazareno acknowledged the unwavering support from the Akari Chargers during this pivotal moment in her life.

"We thank the Akari Chargers for fully expressing their continued support as she embarks on this beautiful journey."

As Justine and her long-time partner Jhonas Mandado prepare for the arrival of their first child, warm wishes and heartfelt support pour in from fans and well-wishers.

In Jazareno’s absence, the team's defensive responsibilities are set to shift, with Bang Pineda and Max Juangco stepping into a more prominent role.
