Kalei Mau proud of F2's last stand for the season

Kalei Mau was proud to see F2 Logistics go down swinging in their last 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference game, Tuesday night.

The Cargo Movers, who were already out of semis contention, dealt the playoffs-bound Petro Gazz a dominant  25-16, 25-22, 27-25 win to end their campaign on a winning note at the Philsports Arena.

Mau finished with 20 points and scored six of F2 Logistics’ final eight points in the extended third set.

“That’s the team that I know. It’s the team that I’ve been playing with for the past three almost four years,” Mau said.

“I think the difference maker was no pressure, have fun, our game plan was really to do our best and be there for each other. I think we did exactly that and I’m really proud of our team for doing that today,” she added.

The 6-foot-2 Filipino-American outside setter bared that she will be focusing on conditioning during the offseason going through a couple of injuries during the course of the tournament.

“Get healthy this offseason just like any other offseason, this one I gotta work it a little extra harder,” said Mau.

“I had a lot of injuries that held me back from playing my best this conference. And as upsetting as it is, it’s completely out of control at the moment so I just really have to dial in on rehab, therapy and just come back stronger.”

The Cargo Movers capped off their stint at fifth place with a 4-4 win-loss card.
