Kim Fajardo says F2's bronze finish is just a start

F2 Logistics' Kim Fajardo had a career-high performance of 11 points, propelling her team to a bronze medal in the recently concluded 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.

The Cargo Movers overcame a slow start to defeat PLDT in four sets at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in the bronze medal match, securing their highest finish in the PVL since joining in 2019.

For Fajardo, her outstanding play was not just about the points she scored, but also the significance of the accomplishment.

"Of course, I am happy not only because of my 11 points but also because it is our first time to podium finish. It feels amazing," said Fajardo.

Despite battling several injuries in recent years, Fajardo proved that she still has what it takes to play at the highest level, as she helped her team overcome PLDT's strong defense. Fajardo recorded five attacks, four blocks, and two aces, along with 24 excellent sets for F2 Logistics.

Her impressive performance was made even more special by the fact that it reminded her of her own resilience.

"I am happy, but at first, it was a challenge for me to play a full game because I just came back from an injury. So, I was testing myself to see how far I could push myself after surgery and all my other injuries. The 11 points were special to me as an individual player because it reminded me that I still have what it takes," Fajardo shared.

Although F2 Logistics did not make it to the final round, Fajardo and her team remained determined to improve and come back stronger next conference.

"Even though we didn't get it now, we know our shortcomings. But in the next conference, we will improve. We won't settle for losing or not being in the Final Four or the top three in volleyball here in our country. That's our mindset, our motivation, and our inspiration for the next conference," Fajardo said.

With Fajardo's leadership and determination, F2 Logistics has a bright future in the PVL. The team's strong performance in the All-Filipino Conference shows that they have the potential to go even further in the league and achieve greater success in the future.
