Kurashiki not letting guards down after dealing Creamline 1st loss

The thunderous cheers at the Philsports Arena on Friday night echoed the euphoria of an intense battle between two volleyball titans, as the Kurashiki Ablaze took on the formidable Cool Smashers in a gripping four-set match.

The Ablaze managed to seize a thrilling victory (25-20, 25-21, 18-25, 25-14), making Creamline taste their first defeat in the tournament.

The stakes were already high, but as the dust settles, all eyes are now firmly fixed on the ultimate showdown - the gold medal match, where the Cool Smashers and Ablaze will lock horns once more to determine the champions of the mid-season Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference.

Looking back on the Friday night clash, the Kurashiki Ablaze demonstrated their mettle, outshining the Cool Smashers with an electrifying display of skill and teamwork.

Coach Hideo Suzuki's tactical prowess and the players' fierce determination have brought them within touching distance of the championship title. But in the world of competitive sports, the past holds little sway over the future. With the upcoming final being a single-game affair, both teams stand on equal footing, ready to give it their all to claim victory.

"We really want to win on Sunday. This game showed us how we should play on Sunday," said Coach Hideo Suzuki, emphasizing the importance of replicating their winning strategy. "On Sunday, the team with the stronger resolve will emerge victorious."

The much-anticipated championship clash is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and volleyball enthusiasts from all corners are eagerly awaiting the thrilling spectacle that is sure to unfold.

But before the titans take the center stage, the bronze medal match will see F2 Logistics and Cignal engage in a heated battle at 4 p.m.

For the Kurashiki Ablaze, the golden key to victory lies in the hands of their exceptional scorer, Asaka Tamaru, who has consistently led the charge in all their matches.

Tamaru's stellar performance in the semi-final showcased her ability to rise to the occasion, contributing 19 points and 11 excellent receptions.

Saki Tanabe and Yukino Yano, with their impressive contributions of 15 and 13 points respectively, provide additional firepower to the Ablaze's offensive arsenal. Tamaru vowed to leave nothing on the court in the winner-take-all battle on Sunday, determined to secure the championship crown.

"I feel like we exposed some weak points in this game against Creamline, but in the final, I will give my all," Tamaru declared with unwavering confidence. "By any means, we will win on Sunday."

But triumph is not without its challenges, and the Cool Smashers, despite their recent setback, remain a formidable adversary.

The indomitable libero, Kaoru Takahashi, played a pivotal role in facing Creamline's powerful attacks, showcasing her defensive prowess with 16 digs and five excellent receptions.

Creamline's offensive firepower, led by Jema Galanza with 12 points, supported by Risa Sato and Tots Carlos with 10 apiece, kept the Ablaze on their toes throughout the semi-final clash.

Libero Kaoru Takahashi acknowledged the uphill battle ahead but displayed the same spirit of determination as her teammates, vowing to leave everything on the court for the ultimate glory.

"I know Sunday's match will be more challenging, but I don't want to have any regrets in this tournament, so we will do everything to win the championship," Takahashi asserted with conviction.

Sunday's championship match promises to be a spectacle of grit, passion, and raw talent.

The Philsports Arena will witness an intense battle, as the Kurashiki Ablaze and Cool Smashers vie for supremacy, leaving no stone unturned to etch their names in volleyball history.
