ILOCOS NORTE --Choco Mucho team captain Maddie Madayag has been diagnosed with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury on her left knee.
Choco Mucho management made the official announcement through its social media account Friday.
"Salute to our Captain Maddie. Thank you for leading the team with a strong heart, passion, and determination! You have led the Flying Titans to reach new heights!" the management said.
"We are all praying for your speedy recovery from your ACL injury. Nothing can stop the heart of a true Titan!"
The 5-11 Madayag sustained the injury during the fourth set of Choco Mucho's battle-for-third series opener when she fell after a block by Petro Gazz's Ria Meneses.
The former Ateneo star tore an ACL on her right knee five years ago, recovered a year and helped Ateneo win a UAAP title in Season 81.
She made the national team that saw action in the Southeast Asian Games the same year.
