Veteran opposite hitter Aiza Maizo-Pontillas is set to bring experience and leadership to Galeries Tower as the Highrisers gear up for the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.
The team officially announced her signing on Monday.
At 37, Pontillas arrives after a successful three-year run with Petro Gazz, where she played a key role in securing two PVL championships.
Her former team recently announced a leave of absence from the league, paving the way for her move.
Pontillas is expected to mentor a young core featuring second overall pick Jean Asis and Alas Pilipinas standout Julia Coronel, guiding the Highrisers’ next generation of stars.
Galeries Tower has also revamped its roster, parting ways with more than half of its previous lineup and bringing in fresh talent.
New additions include Lycha Ebon, Dolly Versoza, Cams Victoria, Erika Deloria, Sharya Ancheta, Shola Alvarez, Erika Raagas, BLove Barbon, and Julia Angeles, signaling the team’s intent to compete at the top level this year.
