Meneses, Petro Gazz make sure to dictate own fate

ILOCOS NORTE -- On Thursday night, Ria Meneses made sure that Petro Gazz will dictate its own fate heading to the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.

The UST product took charge in the Angels' superb net defense, tallying a total of four blocks for 15 points to lead Petro Gazz's 25-13, 25-21, 25-22 victory over Sta. Lucia at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center here in Bacarra.

The Angels had a total of 10 blocks compared to the Lady Realtors' three.

"Wala akong masabi kasi talagang ginagawa ko lang yung best ko every game yun lang," said Meneses, previously scored a conference-high 10 blocks.

"Kahit naman sino gusto pa magimprove ng sobra kasi katulad ngayon na sunod sunod yung game kailangan bawat game magimprove pa kasi wala na talaga laglagan na talaga," she added.

The win served as Petro Gazz's ticket to the playoffs. On a side note, both Chery Tiggo and Choco Mucho gained their respective semis berths through the elimination of Sta. Lucia.

The Angels improved their standing to 6-2 and look to end the elimination round on a strong note against Choco Mucho on Friday.

"Pagpunta pa lang dito lahat kami gusto talaga manalo, lahat kami hindi papayag na umuwi so talagang bawat point cinecelebrate namin kasi gusto talaga namin manalo." (DJ)
