PLDT middle blocker Mika Reyes said that the team’s change in approach helped the team snap their four-game losing streak at the expense of Akari, Thursday night.
According to Reyes, the High Speed Hitters went into the match against the Chargers much looser than before. That, for her, spelled the biggest difference in the dominant 25-11, 25-21, 25-19 victory that put them back in the semis race.
“Mas importante talaga na nag-eenjoy talaga kami kasi mas madali mag-laro kapag nag-eenjoy lahat, kahit nagkakamali basta nireremind lang kami ni coach na basta may bawi. Okay lang magkamali basta may bawi,” said Reyes.
“Katulad nung sinabi ko kanina, mas nag-eenjoy ngayon talaga. Hindi natatakot magkamali kasi siguro the past few games natatakot magkamali e, the more na mas tight yung galaw… I think enough naman na siguro yun para matuto kami,” said Reyes.
Reyes scored 15 points on 10 attacks, three aces, and two kill blocks to help PLDT ascend to the seventh spot with a 2-4 win-loss slate.
The High Speed Hitters must win their remaining games against Cignal and Chery Tiggo to have a crack at one of the final two spots in the Final Four.
“One game at a time muna and of course kailangan naming mag-handa sa next game since maganda rin yung pinakita ng Cignal kanina so we really have to prepare.”
