MJ Phillips trusts in Petro Gazz's strength, ready to support

After a stint overseas, MJ Phillips back where her heart truly belongs – with Petro Gazz.

Fresh off her journey with the Gwangju AI Peppers in the Korean V-League, where the trials were as fierce as the competition, Phillips wasted no time in rekindling her connection with the Philippine volleyball scene.

Her return was marked by a visit to the court where her allegiance lies – Petro Gazz, the Premier Volleyball League powerhouse.

Clad in the iconic Petro Gazz polo shirt, Phillips watched intently as the Angels soared to a resounding victory over Cignal. The scoreline painted a picture of dominance – 25-13, 25-18, 25-17 – a testament to Petro Gazz's relentless pursuit of glory in the ongoing All-Filipino Conference.

Amidst the cheers and applause, Phillips, a two-time PVL Best Middle Blocker, shared her eagerness to contribute to the team's quest for supremacy.

"We have to talk with management and see where we're at, whether I can play the next game or probably in the semis – if we can make it to the semis, hopefully," she remarked, her eyes alight with determination.

Her eligibility to join the fray in the ongoing conference was sealed by her inclusion in the 20-man roster submitted by the team prior to the commencement of the games.

Currently, Petro Gazz finds itself in joint-second position alongside Creamline, both boasting impressive 7-2 records. Yet, the journey to the summit is fraught with challenges, with six teams fiercely vying for the coveted four semifinal berths.

Phillips, however, exudes confidence in her team's capabilities, acknowledging their prowess even in her absence. Reflecting on Petro Gazz's stellar performance thus far, including a monumental victory over Creamline, she expressed her unwavering belief in her teammates' abilities.

As discussions loom regarding her role in the upcoming games, Phillips remains steadfast in her commitment to the team's cause.

"If they need me, I mean, as long as this team wins, and I trust that they can do it with or without me, it doesn't matter. They're a strong enough team, so I have faith in them," she affirmed.

With her eyes set on both domestic and international glory, Phillips remains dedicated to honing her craft. Despite her imminent return to the KVL for another trial from April 29 to May 1, her focus remains firmly on Petro Gazz's pursuit of PVL greatness.
