Myla Pablo, F2 look to fix communication woes

In the heart-stopping semifinals of the 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference, F2 Logistics' star player Myla Pablo found herself grappling with frustration and a burning desire for improvement.

The match started with F2 Logistics showing their prowess, claiming the first set with a commanding 25-12 lead. However, Creamline was not willing to back down without a fight. In a spectacular turnaround, they roared back to take the second set, leaving the Cargo Movers reeling from the 13-25 defeat.

Undeterred by the setback, F2 Logistics summoned their inner strength and determination in the third set, edging past Creamline with a nail-biting 25-23 victory, setting themselves up for a potential triumph.

The fourth set saw both teams engage in a fierce showdown that left fans on the edge of their seats. Remarkably, the Cargo Movers clawed their way back from a daunting 10-20 disadvantage to push the set to five deuces, eventually snatching it with a thrilling 30-28 scoreline.

With the match hanging in the balance, the deciding fifth set commenced, and this is where the cracks in F2 Logistics' armor began to show. Creamline powered through the final set, taking advantage of a lack of communication on the Cargo Movers' side to secure an impressive 15-7 victory and claim the overall win.

Myla Pablo, the former league MVP, stood tall even in defeat, registering an astounding game-high 27 points. However, she couldn't help but express her disappointment over the team's inability to maintain their momentum in the crucial moments and their struggles with communication throughout the match.

Pablo revealed, "In the fourth set, it felt like it was ours already, but we let go... Our problem every game is that we don't communicate with each other." Her words echoed the importance of teamwork, understanding, and synchronization on the court.

Despite the setback, F2 Logistics remains undeterred. With a 1-1 record in the semifinals, they are determined to bounce back and secure a top-two finish in the six-team round-robin. Their journey to redemption begins with intense preparations for their upcoming matches against PLDT, Kinh B?c B?c Ninh, and Kurashiki Ablaze.

Pablo conveyed the team's mindset, saying, "What we really need is to have the right mindset in every game, and we should really focus on each game... We will work hard on that during our training."

The Cargo Movers are leaving no stone unturned as they focus on refining their communication and addressing their on-court weaknesses.
