Myla Pablo of F2 Logistics showed a true team player's spirit after leading her team to a stunning comeback victory against Creamline in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Saturday night. Despite hammering down an impressive 27 points, including five rejections, Pablo deflected credit to her teammates.
After the intense five-set match that saw F2 Logistics triumph over the Cool Smashers, Pablo acknowledged her team's collective effort in securing the win.
"The points, actually, are the points of everyone because we all worked hard for it. One cannot win alone without the help of our teammates inside the court," she said.
Pablo's performance was exceptional, with crucial hits in the fourth set, where she scored three of the team's final four points, including a single block on Michele Gumabao that pushed F2 Logistics to match point, forcing a deciding fifth frame.
However, Pablo attributed her success to the support of her teammates, particularly team captain Aby Maraño. After committing a crucial service error in the fifth set, Maraño helped lift Pablo's confidence and motivate the team.
"Our team captain, Ate Aby [Maraño], always reminds us that this game is ours. So when Ate Aby entered the court, our confidence inside became a motivation for us," she said.
Pablo was also elated to secure her first win against the Cool Smashers in almost two years.
"Of course, I'm very happy because F2 Logistics is a champion team and I'm glad to be part of it, especially since we won against Creamline. I think this is also the first time I defeated Creamline since I was still playing for Petro Gazz. So, it's only now that I'm with F2 Logistics that I got the win," she said.
The Cargo Movers will face Cignal in their next match on Saturday at 6:30 PM. With Pablo's impressive performance and her team's unwavering spirit, F2 Logistics is poised to take on their opponents with renewed confidence and determination.
