Paat honored to be mentioned in MVP talks

Despite the MVP talks, Mylene Paat made it clear that her goal remains the same.

And that is to lead Chery Tiggo to the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference title.

"Sa akin po hindi [pa pumapasok sa isip ko] kasi ang purpose ko lang is tulungan yung team ko. As long as umaangat yung team doon ako masaya," said Paat.

"Kung sakaling may bonus man na ibigay sa akin ni God and of course, PVL, sobrang thankful na rin ako," she added.

Paat, who is currently placed third overall, leads all locals in scoring with a total of 160 points while also ranking fourth in spikes with a 37.09 success rate. The only other Filipino in the top 10 of the scoring department is Creamline's Jema Galanza (10th).

The 28-year-old national team continued her stellar play on Thursday night, scoring a team-high 23 points built on 20 attacks on top of 11 excellent digs in the Crossovers' 25-20, 18-25, 22-25, 25-16, 18-16 win over PLDT at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Paat said that she just kept motivating her teammates after being down 1-2 in the match. That proved to have done wonders for Chery Tiggo as they came alive in the final two sets to steal the game from the High Speed Hitters.

"Lagi lang namin sinasabi sa loob ng court na kailangan sa puso't isip natin, sa atin to. Yung fighting spirit ng team kailangan namin ilabas which is nangyari naman nung fifth set," said Paat.

"Tulad nung naging mindset namin ng elimination one step at a time one game at a time so kung sino makakalaro namin sa araw na to yun yung pagfofocusan namin."
