Alina Bicar, the 5-foot-6 playmaker from the University of Santo Tomas, has been hailed for her exceptional leadership skills in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference. Her teammate Mylene Paat praised her for her steady playmaking and her ability to take on the role of captain inside the court.
Despite her diminutive stature, Bicar proved to be a force to be reckoned with as she tossed 20 excellent sets and scored three points in their recent win against F2 Logistics.
"Now she can block, she can do single blocks, and she has leadership. It's like she's the captain of the ship. I'm the captain of the team, but she's the captain of the game," said Paat.
Bicar, for her part, said that she always aims to perform well and help her team secure victories in the All-Filipino Conference.
"Whenever I'm put in, what's always on my mind is that I want to perform well. I want to help the team whenever they need me, I'm always ready," said Bicar.
She credited fellow setter Jasmine Nabor for giving her reminders whenever she's inside the court, and she also praised her teammates for their trust and support.
The Chery Tiggo team is currently tied with Creamline at the top spot with identical 3-0 records, having only dropped one set so far in the tournament. They swept both Cignal and F2 Logistics while taking down Army-Black Mamba in four sets.
Bicar's exceptional leadership skills and steady playmaking have been instrumental in Chery Tiggo's success in the tournament.
As the competition heats up, fans are looking forward to seeing more of Bicar's impressive performances and her leadership in guiding her team to victory.
