Pablo says Petro Gazz will be better in second conference

Myla Pablo believes Petro Gazz will come back stronger after its bronze medal finish in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.

The two-time Conference MVP said the bronze medal is not bad for the revamped Petro Gazz, which only had a month of preparation before entering the Ilocos Norte bubble.

Pablo admitted she never reached her peak form coming off a year-long layoff.

And she's vowing to strive harder for the second conference, which is tentatively set in October or November under a bubble format anew in Manila.

"Halos lahat naman ng mga player is tig one year kami so I hope na magkasama sama kami as a team hanggang next conference," Pablo said.

Petro Gazz head coach Arnold Laniog admitted it was challenging to handle a star-studded roster, which is also bannered by Grethcel Soltones, Ces Molina, Ria Meneses, Remy Palma, libero Kath Arado, and mainstay setter Chie Saet.

But he saw great potential despite missing their championship expectations.

"In the future, mas magiging madali para sa amin 'pag nakaharap ulit namin yung mga kalaban for next season. Siguro mas magiging prepared kami as a group," he said. "With this experience, mas tumibay yung relationship ng bawat isa towards the end ng tournament yun yung pinakaimportante." (AL)
