Petro Gazz not resting on laurels despite strong start

Petro Gazz has emerged as an unstoppable force in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference. Their journey through the tournament is nothing short of remarkable, and their recent showdown with F2 Logistics at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna further cemented their dominance.
The Petro Gazz Angels have been a revelation this season, defying expectations and securing a pristine 4-0 record under the guidance of their first-year head coach, Timmy Sto. Tomas. This resounding success isn't a mere stroke of luck; it's the result of meticulous preparation and unwavering determination.
Sto. Tomas, the architect behind the Angels' impressive run, revealed the secrets to their triumph. "It's all about preparation and motivating the girls," he said. "Their drive is unmatched, and their eagerness to learn and win is palpable. We're all on the same page - we want to win, and we want to learn from each other."
Their most recent battle against F2 Logistics presented a formidable challenge, especially in the second set, where the Cargo Movers threatened to break Petro Gazz's perfect set record. However, the Angels prevailed with a hard-fought 27-25 victory, showcasing their resilience and determination.
Sto. Tomas played a pivotal role in motivating his team to finish the game strongly. "I reminded them of the sense of urgency. We knew F2 Logistics wouldn't give up easily. If we wanted to win, we needed to maintain our sense of urgency and not let F2 Logistics catch up," he emphasized.
The players responded to the coach's call with renewed vigor, and one player, in particular, stood out. Ranya Musa, with her 11-point performance, was named the Player of the Game. She credited their success in the third set to self-confidence and unwavering determination.
Musa explained, "In the third set, it was all about self-confidence. We wanted to prove that we could stay ahead of F2 Logistics and not allow them to catch up, especially after the close second set."
With just one day of rest before they face the formidable Chery Tiggo, Petro Gazz doesn't plan to rest on their laurels. Coach Sto. Tomas emphasized the need to go back to the drawing board and study their upcoming opponents thoroughly.
"We know that Chery Tiggo is also very competitive," Sto. Tomas acknowledged. "We need to analyze their game plan and style thoroughly so that we can replicate our success on Saturday."
Petro Gazz's relentless pursuit of victory, combined with their strong teamwork and coaching, has made them a force to be reckoned with in the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference. As they continue their unbeaten streak, the volleyball world eagerly watches to see if they can maintain their unstoppable momentum.
