ILOCOS NORTE - Petro Gazz bounced back from a four-set loss to Creamline last Tuesday as it subdued Cignal HD, 25-22, 25-18, 25-21, to tie Chery Tiggo at third with 2-1 cards, Friday at the PCV Socio-Civic Cultural Center here in Bacarra.
Grethcel Soltones, who was limited to six markers against the defending champions, registered 14 points and eight excellent receptions.
But it was Ces Molina's clutch hits that bucked a Cignal comeback late in the game that saw Petro Gazz blow a 17-12 lead that led to a 20-all tie.
Molina finished with 11 points and 16 digs while Myla Pablo had 10 points.
Kath Arado manned the floor with 23 digs and 12 receptions.
The HD Spikers, who turned back the Lady Realtors, also in four, last Wednesday, after a straight-set setback to the Crossovers, dropped to joint sixth with the Black Mamba Lady Troopers at 1-2.
May Luna was the lone double-digit scorer for Cignal with 15 points and nine excellent receptions.
