The Philippines is set to take center stage in Asian volleyball as it hosts the inaugural AVC Women’s Champions League from April 20 to 27, 2025.
This tournament, a rebrand of the Asian Club Championships, is organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) in partnership with Volleyball World.
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) will serve as the local organizers.
AVC President Ramon Suzara made the official announcement on Friday, unveiling the AVC Champions League with a new logo that symbolizes the tournament's commitment to growth, excitement, and greater challenges.
The AVC Champions League will feature a maximum of 12 elite clubs from across Asia, representing all five zones in the women's division.
These teams will battle for a share of the US$50,000 prize money allocated for the event.
More importantly, the top two finishers will secure highly coveted slots in the 2025 FIVB Club World Championships, where they will compete against the best club teams from other continents.
The tournament format will see the participating teams divided into four pools of three teams each.
Over the course of eight days, they will compete in a competition structure that will ultimately crown the best women's club team in Asia.
