Venice Puzon, the two-time NCAA Best Setter, is set to grace the courts as she joins PLDT in the highly anticipated 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference. The announcement was made by the team on Saturday.
Puzon, who still has one more year of eligibility with Lyceum, will be joining PLDT as a guest player, bringing her exceptional skills to the team's already formidable lineup.
"The team is thrilled to welcome Venice Puzon, the talented setter from Lyceum Lady Pirates, who has been named the NCAA's best setter twice. We are delighted to have her as part of the High Speed Hitters in the upcoming PVL Invitational Conference, granted a guest license," read the team's statement.
Puzon's addition marks the second acquisition by PLDT during the off-season. Prior to this, the High Speed Hitters secured the services of former Army outside hitter Royse Tubino.
Having guided the Lyceum Lady Pirates to the finals, Puzon's exceptional setting skills were showcased in their valiant effort against College of St. Benilde.
Although they fell short in their pursuit of the championship, Puzon's ability to lead and create opportunities on the court was evident throughout the series.
Puzon will get to learn from ace setter Rhea Dimaculangan.
