For seven out of the eight years in her club career, Majoy Baron has been wearing the familiar yellow and black of F2 Logistics.
Next month, she is set to wear colors she is not familiar with—the hues of PLDT.
Majoy Baron is the second significant addition made by the High-Speed Hitters for the 2024 Premier Volleyball League season.
She joins setter Kim Fajardo on the team. For the 28-year-old native of Concepcion, Tarlac, no longer being under the guidance of Ramil de Jesus and playing with teammates outside of La Salle is something she is unfamiliar with. But it's the uncertainty that excites her.
"The thought that everything I learned from La Salle and F2 will expand because I'm in a new system makes me really excited,” she said as she gets to learn under former PVL champion coach Rald Ricafort.
“Every new coach and every new teammate, I intend to learn from them.” Baron has excelled at every level of competition.
Baron is a three-time UAAP champion and a former MVP.
Baron has also represented the national team on numerous occasions.
Now, she writes a new chapter in her career with PLDT.
“I'm coming into the PLDT team as a student of the sport. Hopefully, I excel in this challenge as well,” she said.
