PLDT welcomes back Elena Samoilenko

PLDT has announced the return of Russian import Elena Samoilenko for the upcoming 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.

Standing tall at 6-foot-4, Samoilenko, an outside hitter renowned for her powerful spikes, brings a wealth of experience and skill to the team.

The announcement came on Friday, marking the eagerly awaited reunion between Samoilenko and the High Speed Hitters.

"We just loved Lena Samoilenko's quiet intensity so much that we had to bring her back for another tour of duty," read the team’s statement.

Samoilenko's previous stint with PLDT in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference left a lasting impression despite the team's inability to advance to the semifinals.

During that campaign, Samoilenko showcased her prowess on the court, leading the league in scoring with an impressive tally of 213 points across eight games.

Now, as she gears up for her return, Samoilenko finds herself in a team that has undergone significant changes since her departure.

She will now join a team that has Rald Ricafort as head coach and Fil-Canadian sensation Savannah Davison and stalwarts Majoy Baron, Kim Fajardo, and Kianna Dy as firepower.
