Pauline Gaston came out of her comfort zone this new year when she signed with Chery Tiggo.
Prior to her transfer, Gaston played for Choco Mucho coached by Oliver Almadro and composed of players from Ateneo de Manila University.
Safe to say, it was home for Gaston who was a Blue Eagle in her collegiate years.
But moving to a new home with unfamiliar faces, the transition was seamless for the 25-year-old outside spiker.
"It was an easy adjustment kasi sobrang welcoming yung team. They’re really nice and lahat po sila so far nakikita ko same work ethic," shared Gaston, who now prefers to be called Pauline than her previous nickname Ponggay, which was "very college".
“Hindi nagpapatalo sa extra work and marami sa kanila sobrang sipag and willing to teach me everything para madali ang adjustment ko.” she added.
The Crossovers were coming off a fourth-place finish last Reinforced Conference with Mylene Paat taking home the Conference MVP award.
Aside from Gaston, Chery Tiggo also retooled with the signing of libero Bingle Landicho and middle blocker Seth Rodriguez fresh off a championship with Petro Gazz.
On the other hand, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, a member of the team for six years, transferred to Akari.
With this new beginning in her volleyball career, Gaston knows that she and her squad will fight until the end - as she's seen in their preparation for the All-Filipino Conference scheduled to start on February 4.
“I’m looking forward to our overall performance kasi alam ko na grabe yung team effort na gagawin namin and excited po kami ipakita kung anong meron kami,” said Gaston.
